Permanent jewelry is jewelry that is custom fit to your body and welded or zapped on with a micro spot welder. Traditionally this means that there is no clasp and you don’t have to take the jewelry off daily. If there comes a time that you need or want to remove your jewelry piece, all you need to do is snip it off at the jump ring where we welded it and if you would like us to reattach it in the future, we will be able to. We also have sterling silver and 14k gold fill clasps on hand at all times for those that would rather have a clasp option.

Unlike a lot of other permanent jewelry businesses, we choose to provide a tiered pricing system. I felt it only fair where there are such a variety in chain costs that we would setup a 4 tier system to make it easier and financially beneficial for both of us! Our sterling silver and gold fill bracelets start at $35 and range to $100. Our price list is also shown here on our tiered chain pricing page.

We are excited to help you with your event! We will travel up to 30 miles from Raymond, Maine to host with no travel fee. Beyond that, for travel 30-50 miles one way, there is a $50 fee. There is a booking fee of $25/pp to reserve your spot for a private appointment at permanent jewelry studio in Windham, Maine however this deposit is used in full towards your permanent jewelry choice the day of! The booking fee is refundable as long as a 24 hour cancellation is provided (48 hour notice for groups of 5 or more)..

We require a $250 overall purchase minimum at the event to host. We will bring our gorgeous setup of displays and samples as well as our compact tools and supplies to zap all of your guests in the comfort of your home or space. There is a $100 booking deposit required to hold your reservation. This will be used as either a credit towards your purchase the day of your event or will be refunded thereafter. By hosting a Gem Lounge Jewelry permanent pop up and meeting our minimums, the host receives a free tier 1 or 2 bracelet in either sterling silver or gold fill! Come visit us at our permanent jewelry studio located within On The Docks retail shop at 889 Roosevelt Trail in Windham, Maine. You can view our online available through our calendar. We also have pop up events throughout southern Maine as well as a variety of craft fair events on the calendar where we will be providing permanent jewelry. You can also request an in person private appointment (with a minimum of 5 pieces purchased).

Clients must be 12 years or older to get welded and need a written permission and to be supervised by their Gaurdian for the duration of the appointment. Permanent jewelry is not well-suited for growing children as they can constrict and thus note our warranty does not cover jewelry that is outgrown. However parents of younger guardians can reach out to discuss on a case by case basis and what we can offer.

All precious metal jewelry tarnishes and if a shop owner or jeweler tells you otherwise, they are not being truthful. I have tried everything under the sun over the last 15+ years and I can say from experience that the best way to keep it sparkling is by wearing the jewelry regularly. As far as cleaning methods I recommend, using jewelry polishing cloths, and a jewelry cleaner called Tarn-X which can be administered with cotton balls, with a thick cloth or something you don't mind tossing afterwards blocking the chain from touching your skin underneath. Be sure to rinse this off afterwards. This is by far the best jewelry cleaner I've found and I've used it to clean thousands of pieces over the years.

Yes, we sure can as long as you cut the piece of jewelry at the welded jump ring. We would be happy to re-spark your original Gem Lounge Jewelry permanent jewelry for a fee of $20 (free if during the initial 6 month weld warranty). Please note, we do not cover the cost of lost or stretched out jewelry. Permanent jewelry needs to be removed when you go in for an MRI so be sure to cut on the welded jump ring and we will be able to re-weld.

Not at all, we use protection between your skin as an extra precaution.

As the jewelry is welded on, the jewelry is permanent until you decide to remove it. Keep in mind that nothing is truly permanent in that you have to take into account the lifestyle that you lead too. While we provide high-quality chain and charms, nothing is indestructable so you still need to take care of your jewelry and be aware of your surroundings. Sterling silver and 14k Gold-filled can last years with normal wear.

Appointments come in 20 minute sessions. We cannot accommodate late arrivals so please make sure to arrive on time for your appointment as cancellations and rescheduling needs to be made at least 24 hours in advance (and 48 hours in advance for groups of 5+).
